Wheat Straw Water Cups 16 oz with Etched Pattern - Alternative Plastic Drinking Glasses Set of 6

I bought these “unbreakable” glasses for my 88-year-old father, who has advanced dementia. The purchase was prompted by him chewing drinking glasses until they fractured and then attempting to swallow the fragments. While the cups are not perfect - see attached photo and resulting tear after one month of gnawing - they don’t break into little pieces and I no longer have to worry about him dying from swallowing glass fragments or biting me when I attempt to pick glass out of his mouth. It’s the best solution I’ve found so far.

I wondered what a “wheat smell” would be like. It’s not off putting, and I have to try to smell it. I don’t notice the smell when I am drinking water. I only use these for water, so I’m not sure if it absorbs scents. I like that they are a pint and that they stack and that they are dishwasher safe.
